چکیده
CLL: chronic lymphocytic leukemia PR: pityriasis rosea EGFR: epidermal growth factor receptor PDGFR: platelet-derived growth factor receptor I brutinib, a Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitor, is a new oral agent approved for the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Ibrutinib is well-tolerated, with the majority of its adverse events within grade 1 or 2 severity. The most common nonhematologic side effects are diarrhea, arthralgia, rash, and brittle nails. Three subtypes of ibrutinib-related dermatitis have been reported in the literature: 1) asymptomatic nonpalpable petechial rash, 2) leukocytoclastic vasculitiselike pruritic violaceous palpable purpura, and 3) painless nonpruritic edematous papules with centripetal spread. We report a previously undescribed case of a pityriasis rosea (PR)elike dermatitis associated with the use of ibrutinib.

متن کاملCommon Skin Rashes in Children.
Because childhood rashes may be difficult to differentiate by appearance alone, it is important to consider the entire clinical presentation to help make the appropriate diagnosis. Considerations include the appearance and location of the rash; the clinical course; and associated symptoms, such as pruritus or fever. A fever is likely to occur with roseola, erythema infectiosum (fifth disease), ...

A 13-year-old girl developed a non-pruritic pityriasis rosea-like rash, which did not respond to topical corticosteroids or UV therapy but persisted for 2 years. The lymphohistiocytic infiltrate in the upper dermis showed mononuclear cells immunoreactive with S100, CD68, factor XIIIa and CD1a. Electron microscopic evaluation of these cells demonstrated lamellated dense bodies but no Birbeck gra...
متن کاملPityriasis rosea-like Drug Eruption Induced by Imatinib Mesylate (Gleevec™)
Imatinib mesylate (Gleevec™, STI571), a selective inhibitor of BCR-ABL, c-Kit, and platelet-derived factor receptor, has been used to treat chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) and gastrointestinal stromal tumors. Although its use has been associated with various adverse cutaneous reactions, pityriasis rosea-like drug eruptions are rare. Here, we report a case of pityriasis rosea-like drug erupti...
متن کاملA qualitative study on the historical aspects of pityriasis rosea: revelations on future directions of research
The exact aetiology of pityriasis rosea (PR) remains controversial despite research for nearly one and a half century. We report a small-scale qualitative study on the historical aspects of PR. We found that the exact time point for which the rash was first accurately described is not easily determined. There exists considerable overlap between typical and atypical PR. Important clinical signs ...
